At The Shore Church we believe discipleship can and should happen primarily in the context of the local church.  And periodically we find that there are some topics which are best addressed and taught in the context of a transformative learning environment, like a class. Over the years we’ve attempted to do most of our classes in the evening.  However with a congregation of young families we discovered Sunday mornings before the service works best! We plan to have a lot more “seasonal” ( 4-6 week) Classes where we can equip our church in many important topics, issues and ways we can follow Jesus. Below is our most recent class

When: 6 weeks beginning November 10th // Video lecture by Timothy Keller and teaching by John Lalonde at 9am.  Note, we encourage everyone who attends an Adult Equip Class to attend the 10:30 service as well.

Where: Theatre 2 ( Park & Tilford Cineplex)

In the Video’s Pastor and author Timothy Keller meets with a group of skeptics over six sessions to debate their doubts and questions about Christianity. Using literature, philosophy, real-life experiences and constant reference to the Bible, Keller explains how the belief in a Christian God is a sound and rational one. Filmed live and unscripted as Keller interacts with the group, this curriculum models the way in which Christians can address the six most common questions from skeptics.Below are the topics

  1. Isn’t the Bible a Myth?
  2. How Can You Say There Is Only One Way to God?
  3. What Gives You the Right to Tell Me How to Live My Life?
  4. Why Does God Allow Suffering?
  5. Why Is the Church Responsible for So Much Injustice?
  6. How Can God Be Full of Love and Wrath at the Same Time?

In addition to discussing and engaging in these topics, pastor John Lalonde will be expounding what the Bible teaches about these as well.   No need to sign up, just show up!
