THERE IS AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE JESUS KNOWN IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH MOUNTAIN SPORTS.
The Sea-to-Sky corridor is renowned for skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking, and many people move here explicitly for this reason.
Mountain Riders is a community that desires to make Jesus known in mountain riding culture. When we recognize the call on our life to ‘go into the world and make disciples’, our
sports are no longer just about having fun or getting outside to enjoy nature. Instead, they become a platform to share the gospel and our personal stories of faith! We love others well by giving and serving in our community, and discipling each other when we ride.
‘Tune Up’ is when we come together to tune up our bikes and boards, but also a time of tuning up our life. We want our lives to be shaped by the gospel so that our attitudes and actions reflect the good news that we believe in! Our identity as God’s children and our intrinsic value from being made in his likeness are examples of core beliefs that we should constantly be reminded of.
Next TUNE UP is Saturday January 12
Where: Shore Church Hub
Bring wax, bring snacks!
Since we love our sports, we will ride often! We will ask the Holy Spirit to give us opportunities to engage with people and be a light on the hill! These nights will often be accompanied by a devotional, and plenty of goofing around in the snow.
Winter ride nights will begin January 10
What: Snowboards and Skis
Where: Mt Seymour
Time: 6 pm
We’ll be having a short bible study in ‘The Hut” from 7:15-8 pm on Thursday nights at Seymour! Come meet up and ride before, we’ll warm up and look at Galatians, then we’ll get back out on the snow.
Winter ride nights will continue at Seymour until the end of the snow season!
