SUNDAY SCHOOL
We have classes for children from nursery age to Grade 6. They are split into age-appropriate groups and led by a fantastic team of securely screened volunteers, who have a passion for sharing and displaying the love of God to children.
We use a gospel-centered curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and theologically sound. It explains the true overarching story of the Bible, the character of God, and ultimately teaches us how to know Jesus and live out a vibrant lifetime of faith.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 19:14
- Please arrive at 9:45am or earlier and sign your kids in at the Kids welcome table
- A volunteer will help print a name tag sticker for your kids (be sure to keep the sticker stub for when you pick them up after the service!)
- At the start of service kids will join in with their families for worship, before being dismissed for a fun and educational gathering class with their peers
- A snack will be served to your kids during class (We are sensitive to and supportive of children with allergies, serving allergy-free snacks)
- Parents are to pick up your kids from the High School Lounge after the service, and sign the sign-out sheet before you leave
- Lastly, ask your kids what they learned about Jesus today!
SAFETY
All of the volunteers that serve in Shore Kids are faithful members of the church. In order to serve with our children, volunteers must submit an application and complete a criminal background check. We always adhere to strict adult to children ratios. Adults always serve in teams and are never alone with children.
INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?
At The Shore Church we value the importance of investing in each child’s faith journey and showing them the love of Christ. It is a true privilege to be a part of their lives, and the ripple effects will last a life-time. However, we are missing a key part in helping us to better serve the children and families at the Shore, and that is YOU! If you are interested in serving or have a passion to see children know Jesus, please click the button below to learn more about how you can be a wonderful influence in these children’s lives!

SHORE KIDS VISION STATEMENT
UNDERSTANDING WHO GOD IS
- For children to have a deep and well-rounded understanding of who God is, His character, His attributes, and His love for them.
- To instill a relational and personal understanding of who God is – learning and knowing that He is their Father.
- To grow to be rooted in God’s Word and to hunger for it:
- Through teaching and preaching
- Through memorizing scripture
- Through understanding the importance of application and actually applying scripture to their daily lives
- Through the example of parents and other adults and believers searching the Word and applying it to their own lives
- To know the Gospel inside and out and for the Gospel to be shared with these children at every opportunity
UNDERSTANDING WHO THEY ARE IN LIGHT OF WHO GOD IS
- For children to know that they are loved deeply by their heavenly father
- For children to know that their identity, value, and purpose are solely determined by God and not by any other factor or culture
- For children to understand sin, and to recognize that just like all of us, they too are sinful beings in desperate need of God’s saving grace
- For children to understand and experience grace, forgiveness, and redemption
- For children to be saved
- For children to demonstrate faith in their own lives, and to see them take steps of faith
- To begin developing spiritual discernment
- To grow in spiritual maturity
MINISTERING TO OTHERS
- To encourage children to have a keen awareness of every individual’s need for God and the Gospel
- To know that they are never too young to make a difference in their community
- To teach them how to share the Gospel with others, and how to love others as Jesus would
- To develop servant hearts and get involved in their community
- To teach older children to serve younger children
- To lead with compassion and action
WORKING TOGETHER WITH THE CHURCH
- We know that parents are the primary teachers and disciplers of their own children, but the church works together with parents to support them and give them the tools to discipline their children.
- To see children build up the church, to get involved because they want to, not because they feel like they have to
- To grow in one mindset where everyone is striving after the same goal
- To always consider and serve children and families who come from non-traditional family backgrounds – where parents may be spiritually immature, not present at all, or where children are in/come from foster care, or families with single or divorced parents
