DIRECTOR OF KIDS MINISTRY – LINDA XIAO
Hi Shore Family!
My name is Linda. I have been a part of the Shore community since September of 2021. I came to know Jesus when I was nine years old, and I am so thankful for His gift of salvation and to have a heavenly Father who cares for me. I graduated in 2017 from a Christian college with my Bachelor of Arts in Ministry Leadership Administration. Since then, I have been serving children of all ages and families in various settings and roles, and supporting children with special needs.
My personal upbringing as well as my experience working with children and building deep relationships with their families have set fire to a great passion I didn’t realize I had, and my heart has been increasingly burdened to reach them with Jesus’s love. Furthermore, I see every day the consequences of the brokenness that our current culture and our own sin causes. When I received the incredible opportunity to work with children and families at the Shore, I was blown away by God’s goodness, and I was so, so thankful to have this privilege to serve YOU! My prayer is that God will use me for His glory in spite of me, and that I will be able to encourage and lift up the families at the Shore for His Kingdom! Thank you so much for your trust in me and for giving me a chance. I can’t wait to get to know each and every one of you!
-Love, Linda.

SAFETY
All of the volunteers that serve in Shore Kids are faithful members of the church. In order to serve with our children, volunteers must submit an application and complete a criminal background check. We always adhere to strict adult to children ratios. Adults always serve in teams and are never alone with children.
CHILDREN MATTER TO JESUS
We have classes for children from nursery age to Grade 6. They are split into age-appropriate groups and led by a fantastic team of securely screened volunteers, who have a passion for sharing and displaying the love of God to children.
We use a gospel-centered curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and theologically sound. It explains the true overarching story of the Bible, the character of God, and ultimately teaches us how to know Jesus and live out a vibrant lifetime of faith.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
– Matthew 19:14

At The Shore Church we value the importance of investing in each child’s faith journey and showing them the love of Christ. It is a true privilege to be a part of their lives, and the ripple effects will last a life-time. However, we are missing a key part in helping us to better serve the children and families at the Shore, and that is YOU!
