HIS WIN IS MERITED TO YOU
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19
WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Baptism is the Christian act of immersing a believer under water and then bringing them forth out of the water. It is a representation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is, in being immersed under water, you are identifying with Jesus’ death; his death was in your place for your sin. In coming out of the water, you are identifying with Jesus’ resurrection; his resurrection conquered death. In Jesus, you have victory over sin and death and are being united to new relationship with God! In baptism, you are identifying with Jesus’ life, death and resurrection; you are publicly expressing your faith (Romans 6:1-10; Colossians 2:12).
Baptism is the washing with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; it signifies and seals our adoption into Christ, our cleansing from sin, and our commitment to belong to the Lord and to his church.
